BioClair Anna Russell is a fictional, unethical xenobiologist. Formerly employed by Clarity Labs and now freelance, she studies the lab-created mutants of her world, constantly seeking a method to wipe out their kind. Her 'studies' are not kind, employing everything from sensory deprivation to vivisection. She hunts for subjects in New York City, around the outskirts of the 'understreets,' a mutant-filled slum, where she and others like her are known and feared as 'butchers.'
